Betting Odds Format

The betting pages on WBX are presented in decimal odds format by default but figures can also be displayed in Fractional odds, Hong Kong odds, Indonesian odds, Italian odds, American odds or Percentage odds formats if preferred.

To amend the betting odds format, do the following:

  1. Click Market Settings in the centre of the screen when viewing any market.
  2. Select your required betting odds format from the Odds Format dropdown menu.

American Odds

American odds can be either positive or negative.

Positive American odds are used when the potential profit on a bet is larger or equal to the stake. The odds value shows how big your winnings are if you bet 100 units.

Negative American odds are used when the potential profit on a bet is smaller than the stake. The odds value shows how big a stake is needed to win 100 units.

Example: England to beat Spain at American odds of +400
Return: Stake x (1 + American odds/100) £200 x (1 + 400/100) = £1,000
Winnings: Stake x American odds/100 £200 x 400/100 = £800

Example: Spain to beat England at American odds of -200
Return: Stake x (1 + 100/American odds) £200 x (1 + 100/200) = £300
Winnings: Stake x 100/American odds £200 x 100/200 = £100

Decimal Odds

Decimal odds are sometimes referred to as Continental odds, Digital odds or European odds. Decimal odds multiplied by your stake equals the total return.

Example: Spain to beat England at decimal odds of 1.5
Return: Stake x decimal odds £200 x 1.5 = £300
Winnings: Stake x (decimal odds - 1) £200 x (1.5 - 1) = £100

Fractional Odds

Fractional odds are sometimes referred to as UK odds. Fractional odds multiplied by your stake equals the profit.

Example: Spain to beat England at decimal odds of 1/2
Return: Stake x (fractional odds + 1) £200 x (1/2 +1) = £300
Winnings: Stake x fractional odds £200 x 1/2 = £100

Hong Kong Odds

Hong Kong odds multiplied by your stake equals the profit.

Example: Spain to beat England at Hong Kong odds of 0.5 Return:
Stake x (1 + Hong Kong odds) £200 x (1 + 0.5) =£300
Winnings: Stake x Hong Kong odds £200 x 0.5 = £100

Indonesian Odds

Indonesian odds can be either positive or negative.

Positive Indonesian odds are used when the potential profit on a bet is larger or equal to the stake. The odds value shows how big your winnings are if you bet 1 unit.

Negative Indonesian odds are used when the potential profit on a bet is smaller than the stake. The odds value shows how big a stake is needed to win 1 unit.

Example: England to beat Spain at Indonesian odds of +4 Return:
Stake x (1 + Indonesian odds) £200 x (1 + 4) = £1,000
Winnings: Stake x Indonesian odds £200 x 4 = £800

Example: Spain to beat England at Indonesian odds of -2
Return: Stake x (1 +1/ Indonesian odds) £200 x (1 + 1/2) = £300
Winnings: Stake x 1/Indonesian odds £200 x 1/2 = £100

Italian Odds

Italian odds show profit if you stake 100 units.

Example: Spain to beat England at Italian odds of 50
Return: Stake x (1 + Italian odds/100) £200 x (1 + 50/100) =£300
Winnings: Stake x (Italian odds/100) £200 x (50/100) = £100

Percentage Odds

Percentage odds represent the implied % chance.

Example: Norway to beat Sweden at Percentage odds of 50%
Returns: Stake x (100/ Percentage odds) £200 x (100 / 50) = £400
Winnings: Stake x ((100/ Percentage odds) + 1) £200 x ((100 / 50) -1) = £200
